Rewrite Destiny - background

Rewrite Destiny is one of the three introductory websites of Ever After High, representing Ever After High's library. It was launched on April 23, 2013 and announced through On the Air with C.A. Cupid. It served its purpose until May 30, 2013, when it was made into a redirect to the freshly-launched Ever After High website. As with all introductory websites, Rewrite Destiny received an update each week to garner interest for Ever After High and its launch.

Texts

  • With the May 01 update came a notification on each of the three websites to text a word to 91919. For Rewrite Destiny, this was "Chapter". Doing so yielded an image and a line of text. The image and text were updated each two weeks, but the word stayed the same.

Notes

  • The clues in order refer to Snow White (Apple White), Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Raven Queen), an unknown story, and Snow White (Apple White) again.
  • The second clue references the iconic riddle by the Hatter from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, which goes "Why is a raven like a writing desk?". The riddle was made to be without answer, but as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was well-received, many readers and eventually Lewis Carroll himself suggested various answers. Of these, the answer that relates the most to Ever After High is "Because Poe wrote on both.", which references the poem The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. The raven in the poem only says "Nevermore", which eventually turned out to be the name of Raven's pet dragon.
  • The appearance of the Raven's silhouette on May 7 was accompanied by the appearance of ravens on the front tree branches.
